In this 75 minute class, each moment
in each pose is broken down incrementally. This is an Iyengar influenced class in that props like belts, suspended slings, blocks, bolsters, chairs and even the wall are utilized. In addition, there will be focus and instruction on where to put the mind and the breath. Consider this class physically and mentally challenging; appropriate for the beginner as well as the most advanced yoga student.
Corporate yoga is a great opportunity for employees to learn a system that will give them tools to cope with the stresses of daily life at work and at home. This hour long class will work with the body, the breath and the mind and will create a stronger, more open body free of the constraints placed on it from a sedentary yet fast paced life behind the desk. It is also a place to work on any pre-existing painful condition that a student might be suffering from, for example, low back pain, M.S, Asthma and hypertension.

As a healer, I have learned that there is not always one answer to a problem.
Sometimes, breath work is the answer, sometimes deep tissue massage and
sometimes yoga. Yoga therapy is similar to what mainstream America would liken
to physical therapy. Yoga can serve as a therapeutic treatment in many situations
where the mind or the body experiences discomfort. By using props such as blocks,
chairs, straps and blankets, the yoga asana (pose) is modified to open the body in a
specific way. When the body is open, the energy of life flows freely throughout; the blood
that carries the nutrients to the tissues can flow more freely with fewer
obstructions such as tight muscles, the oxygen in the blood stream that is
inhaled through the breath can increase with a more open chest and internal
organs can work more efficiently and effectively with more internal space that
is created by opening the body from the inside out with the breath and the
outside in through the asanas (poses). Yoga therapy sessions are private and may
run from 60-90 minutes long.
